Using Cascade Server

The University Communications (UComms) web team is in the process of completing the implementation of a new web content management system/digital experience platform (Sitecore) for MSU. At this time, we have stopped work on the Cascade Framework website program. We will start a similar program in the Sitecore platform beginning early spring 2021.

We recognize this may pose an inconvenience to some units that need a new website prior to that time. If your schedule will not allow you to wait until Sitecore is available, you may consider using one of the six preferred web vendors for your project. 

If you are able to wait for Sitecore, we will look forward to working together at that time. 

Please note: Cascade and Cascade Framework support for existing sites will continue. 

Independently develop a website using Cascade Server

Developers may create their own websites in Cascade Server, tailored to the specific needs of their units. Independent developers will implement websites using highly customized layouts, workflows, and CMS features and functionality. Please contact the MSU Web Team if you are interested in using Cascade Server independently.

Independent developer training required:

  • Content Manager (Contributing and Publishing) - 2 hour course - $67/participant
  • Cascade Global Site Administrator - 3 hour course - $87/participant

Enroll in Cascade Server Training

Visit the Technology Training Registration & Payment page on tech.msu.edu. Once you have logged in to the EBS Portal, Cascade Server training courses may be located in the Course Catalog or by using the Find keyword search with the term 'cascade'. For assistance with registering student employees for Cascade Server training courses, please call (517) 884-3000 or contact IT Services Technology Training.
