What is Cascade Server?

Cascade Server is an enterprise-level web content management system used by units across campus.

How to begin using Cascade Server

  • Learn more about using Cascade Server.
  • View online training modules using D2L. This self-paced training provides instruction for how to access the CMS, manage content, and administer user accounts/system access.

Costs for using Cascade Server

Account setup and CMS storage space for up to 20GB of content are provided at no cost and are subsidized by the University Communications Web Team.

To use Cascade Server you must register any domain names you intend to use for your website and provide web hosting, and funding for training courses your staff will attend to learn how to use the CMS.

Cascade Server Training

IT Services has transitioned from instructor-led classes to self-paced online training modules.

Online training is delivered free of charge through MSU’s D2L website.

Please direct training questions to the University Communications Web Team (comms.web@msu.edu).
